Community Activities

TASCA Thursday morning dance

Every Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon, the sounds of Willowridge Music cranks up for your Country and Western dancing pleasure at TASCA. Whether you enjoy a waltz, some boot scootin’ or just like to listen to the music, come join the folks at TASCA for a little daytime dancing. Admission is free for members and $1 for guests. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd) in Whitehouse.

Troup Chamber Cash and Coffee set

The Troup Chamber of Commerce will host a Cash and Coffee Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. at Troup High School. The community is invited to attend.

Jam session and sing along

Jam session and sing along runs from 1:30-4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. Acoustic instruments only. Music includes Country, Bluegrass and Gospel. TASCA members are free. Guests are $1 each. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd), Whitehouse.

Troup FFA car wash

Troup FFA officers will hold a fundraising carwash on Saturday, Sept. 27 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Kilgore National Bank in Troup. Funds raised will support the team as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky for the National FFA Convention.

AARP driver safety program offered

The next AARP Driver Safety course is set for Wednesday, Oct. 1, 12:30-4:40 p.m., at Green Acres Baptist Church. The cost for AARP members is $15 with non-members paying $20. After completion of the 4 hour course you may be entitled to a discount on your automobile insurance. Contact Harry H. Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, Oct. 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Library hours

Regular library hours for the Whitehouse Community Library are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., Fridays 11-5 and Saturdays 11-3. Story time is on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Contact the library at 903-839-2949 for more information.

Regular hours for the Cameron-J. Jarvis Troup Municipal Library are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1-5 p.m. Thursday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call the library at 903-842-3101 for more information.

Recycle-Recycle-Recycle

Whitehouse Recycle Center is open Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Avenue. Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia.

American Legion weekly events

American Legion in Troup at 301 Magnolia has karaoke every Sunday 7-11 p.m. Pool tournaments begin at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday night.

Church Activities

Bascom UMC hosts breakfast

The Bascom United Methodist Church on FM 848 hosts breakfast the last Saturday of the month from 8 - 9:30 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted.
