Community Activities

Clothes Closet open

The Clothes Closet at the Church of Christ, 412 W. Duval in Troup, is open the first Tuesday of the month for those in need of clothing for their family. Doors are open 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

Outdoor warning system test

The cities of Troup and Whitehouse test the outdoor warning siren system the first Tuesday of each month. Troup’s system is tested at 11 a.m. and the Whitehouse system is tested at 1 p.m. Should there be inclement weather the testing will be postponed to the following month.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall.

AARP driver safety program offered

The next AARP Driver Safety course is set for Wednesday, June 3, 12:30-4:40 p.m., at Green Acres Baptist Church. The cost for AARP members is $15 with non-members paying $20. After completion of the 4 hour course you may be entitled to a discount on your automobile insurance. Contact Harry H. Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, June 3 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

WH Cemetery Assoc

The Whitehouse Cemetery Association will meet on Sunday, June 7 at 10:45 a.m. for their annual memorial service, business meeting and dinner on the ground. Everyone is invited to attend.

Union Grove Cemetery Assoc to meet

The annual business meeting of the Union Grove Cemetery Association is set for Sunday, June 7 at 10:45 a.m. It will be followed by a memorial service then dinner and fellowship. Contact David Toole for any questions you may have or donations you’d like to make 903-839-2631.

Knoxville Cemetery Association

Knoxville Cemetery Association has set their annual meeting for Sunday, June 7. The day will start with a business meeting at 10:45 followed by a memorial service and dinner on the ground.

Church Activities

Bascom UMC hosts breakfast

The Bascom United Methodist Church on FM 848 hosts breakfast the last Saturday of the month from 8 - 9:30 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted.

Henry’s Chapel hosts singing

A Fifth Sunday Gospel Singing will be held at Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 31 at 6 p.m. The church location is 4539 Fm 13 E, six miles east of Troup. Call Don Gray, music director, at 903- 842-4474 for more information. A "pot luck" meal will be provided after the music program. Everyone is welcome.
