Community Activities

Clothes Closet open

The Clothes Closet at the Church of Christ, 412 W. Duval in Troup, is open the first Tuesday of the month for those in need of clothing for their family. Doors are open 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

AARP driver safety program offered

The next AARP Driver Safety course is set for Wednesday, Nov. 5, 12:30-4:40 p.m., at Green Acres Baptist Church. The cost for AARP members is $15 with non-members paying $20. After completion of the 4 hour course you may be entitled to a discount on your automobile insurance. Contact Harry H. TASCA hosts dance

Ben Lowry and Texas Express will play for the country & western dance at TASCA on Saturday, Nov. 1, 7- 9:30 p.m. Entry is $5. Tyler Area Senior Citizens Association is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd) in Whitehouse. Call TASCA at 903-871-3217 for more details.

American Legion weekly events

American Legion in Troup at 301 Magnolia has karaoke every Sunday 7-11 p.m. Pool tournaments begin at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday night.

Church Activities

Whitehouse UMC hosts breakfast

The First United Methodist Church of Whitehouse hosts breakfast the first Saturday of the month from 8- 10 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted. The church is located at 405 W. Main.

School Activities

WH Band Boosters meet Tuesday

The Whitehouse Band Boosters will meet Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. in the WHS band hall.

Troup Young Farmers meet

The Troup Young Farmers will meet Monday, Nov. 3 at 6 p.m. in the Troup High School cafeteria. This is a very important meeting because if you plan to take a livestock project to Ft. Worth or Houston or any other "major" show, you must sign up your project this night. Please bring heifer registration papers in the student’s name if showing a heifer. All entry fees, other fees and expenses are due at this meeting so be prepared.

Fall Festival/Halloween Events

Troup Food Pantry – Pumpkin Patch, fall photos, runs through Oct. 31 on the lot next to Troup UMC

Gateway Baptist Church – Indoor Pumpkin Patch, games, story time, popcorn and pictures - runs through Oct. 31, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and 1-5 p.m. on Sunday.

Kilgore Nat’l Bank in Troup - 7th annual costume contest, Friday, Oct. 31, 5:30-6 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Whitehouse – Members’ homes with Light the Night signs throughout Whitehouse offering games and prizes on Friday, Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m.
