TASCA Thursday morning dance

Every Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon, the sounds of Willowridge Music cranks up for your Country and Western dancing pleasure at TASCA. Whether you enjoy a waltz, some boot scootin’ or just like to listen to the music, come join the folks at TASCA for a little daytime dancing. Admission is free for members and $1 for guests. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd) in Whitehouse.

TASCA hosts dance

Processed-free support group at YMCA

The Whitehouse YMCA will host a free support group for processed-free living on Tuesday, July 22 at 11:15 a.m. The Whitehouse YMCA is located at 301 Terry St. For more information contact Lavonia Nowell at 903-504-6321.

Troup High School reunion set

The 1970s-1980s graduating classes of Troup High School are set for to celebrate with a reunion on Saturday, Aug. 2, 6-11 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 5701 S. Broadway in Tyler. The event cost of $20 per person or $30 per couple includes heavy appetizers, cash bar and a great time. To complete your registration, make checks payable to “70s-80s Troup Reunion” and mail to Kilgore National Bank, P.O. Box 457 Troup, TX 75789. Deadline for registration is July 22.

Library hours

Regular library hours for the Whitehouse Community Library are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., Fridays 11-5 and Saturdays 11-3. Story time is on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. Contact the library at 903- 839-2949 for more information. Summer Reading Program is under way.

Recycle-Recycle-Recycle

Whitehouse Recycle Center is open Wednesdays from 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Avenue.

Troup has a self-service recycling receptacle. The Allied Waste Recycling bin is located at the corner of W. Bradford and N. Georgia.

American Legion weekly events

American Legion in Troup at 301 Magnolia has karaoke every Sunday 7-11 p.m. Pool tournaments begin at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday night.

Church Activities

FBC Troup home for Team Kids

If the kids are already bored with summer vacation, First Baptist Church in Troup has some great fun and fellowship going on each Wednesday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Team Kids brings together kids from Kindergarten through fifth grade for Bible stories, games, music, missionary stories and refreshments. Everyone is welcome and invited.
