Community Activities

Jam session and sing along

Jam session and sing along runs from 1:30-4 p.m. on Friday, May 27. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate. Acoustic instruments only. Music includes Country, Bluegrass and Gospel. TASCA members are free. Guests are $1 each. TASCA is located at 10495 CR 2167 (Jim Russell Rd), Whitehouse.

Freedom in the Park

Freedom in the Park is set for Saturday, May 28 at Whitehouse City Park produced by the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce. The day and night will be full of fun, food, music all in a good family atmosphere.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, June 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Whitehouse Cemetery

The annual Whitehouse Cemetery Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 5 at 10:45 a.m. You are invited to attend the business meeting and picnic lunch as well. Bring a lunch and lawnchair and enjoy the visit.

Union Grove Cemetery

The Union Grove Cemetery Memorial Service is set for Sunday, June 5. The business meeting is set for 10:30 – 11 a.m., service at 11:15 and lunch follows.

Knoxville Cemetery

The Knoxville Cemetery Association will meet Sunday, June 5. The group will begin the worship service at 11 a.m. followed by a board meeting and covered dish lunch. Bring a dish and a lawnchair.

Church Activities

Bascom UMC hosts breakfast

The Bascom United Methodist Church on FM 848 hosts breakfast the last Saturday of the month from 8 - 9:30 a.m. A full breakfast meal is served and donations are accepted.

Henry’s Chapel hosts singing

A Fifth Sunday Singing will be held at Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 29, at 6 p.m. The Henry’s Chapel Choir, the Church Hill Blue Grass and Gospel Band, and a three keyboard piano ensemble will be featured. The community is welcomed to come and enjoy the singing and stay for the fellowship meal afterwards. Henry’s Chapel is located at 4539 FM 13 E, just six miles east of Troup.

Youth Activities

Sign up for TYA fall sports

Registration is underway for the Troup Youth Association fall football and cheerleading. This is for students entering grades K-6th. The last open sign up event is set for Saturday, May 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Troup High School baseball fields. For more information call Shane Jasper at 903- 714-1737.
