Invitation to CC Relay for Life

Area cancer survivors and/or caregivers who would like to attend the 2006 Cherokee County Relay for Life are being sought. The event is Friday, April 28, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at the Mauldin Field in Jacksonville. Whitehouse All School Reunion Apr. 8

Writer's Guild meeting Apr. 3

The East Texas Writers Guild's Apr. 3 meeting on Apr. 3 will feature speaker Pam Renner talking about "Tips for Making a Manuscript Submission-Ready." The meeting is open to East Texas writers of all genres. ETWG meets on the first Monday of each month (second Monday if the first Monday is a holiday) at Spring Creek Barbecue on S. Broadway in Tyler. The program begins at 7 p.m. after a dinner and business meeting at 6:15 p.m.

Troup American Legion Post #418 fundraiser

Troup American Legion Post #418 will hold a fundraiser for major kitchen repairs on Sunday, Mar. 26, at 1:30 p.m. Lots of food at $6 per plate. Please call 903-842-3750 with number of people attending no later than Mar. 24.

Show & Karaoke Night at Am. Legion in Troup

The Troup American Legion will present Wayne Farmer, of Dallas, in a One Man Show & Karaoke on Mar. 24 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Music featured will be 50's & 60's oldies and country dance music.

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Tyler Area Low Glycemic Weight Loss Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 5111 Troup Highway, Suite 108 (corner of Shiloh and Troup Hwy.) in Tyler. Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Karing Kitchen

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ in Tyler. For information, call 903-592-0809.

The Troup Academic Booster Club will meet Thursday, Mar. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building across from the elementary school. Play at Grace Community School

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, a theatrical production based on the C.S. Lewis novel, will be presented Mar. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and on Mar. 25 at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Grace Community School's Burgess Auditorium. The school is located on University Boulevard in Tyler. Tickets available at the door.
