Whitehouse's Katy Williard and her longhorn steers just keep on winning. The latest win came April 30 when her three-year-old steer, Cole's Cherokee Chief, won Grand Champion Steer honors at the Arkansas Texas Longhorn Association's 14th annual spring show in Hope, Ark.
Her other steer, a yearling named Cole's Resolution, has placed first in its class at the Fort Worth Southwestern Exposition and Stock Show, the San Antonia Stock Show and Rodeo, the Heart of Texas Longhorn Association Show in Rockdale, the Iowa Texas Longhorn Breeders Association Show and the Minnesota Texas Longhorn Breeders Association Show.
Williard, a home-schooled high school freshman, is the daughter of Jimmy and Pam Williard of Whitehouse. She is
an active member of the Texas Longhorn Breeders of Tomorrow, the youth organization of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America, and is currently ranked fourth in its national competition.
She will be competing in the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America World Show in Fort Worth from June 7-10.
