First Ladies hosting dance workshop

First Ladies officers Laura Viergever and Rachel Lunsford help Alexa Dorsey with a dance step in anticipation of the Dancing Dolls workshop.
The Whitehouse First Ladies Drill Team will host a "Dancing Dolls" workshop on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Whitehouse High School arena for girls in kindergarten through 12th grades.

Young girls who have long admired the national champion dancers and their halftime performances now have a chance to spend an exciting morning with them.

The dancers will be divided into age groups and learn a variety of dance techniques as well as a routine choreographed just for them. The

Dolls" are also invited to perform at the Fall Dance Premiere which will be held at Whitehouse High School on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the work- shop time from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Dancers can also register in advance by obtaining a form in the Drill Team Office at WHS.

"Show-Offs" will start at noon for family and friends to enjoy seeing the routines the girls have learned.

The workshop cost is $25 ($15 for other family members) and includes a special Dancing Dolls t-shirt, picture and snacks.

Dancers should wear comfortable clothes and dancing or tennis shoes and come ready to have a morning of fun and excitement.

Questions about the workshop can be answered by contacting Shelly Johnston, First Ladies director, at 903-839-5554.
