Basketball teams prepare to start scrimmages

High school hoops action gets under way with scrimmages scheduled for both Whitehouse and Troup teams.

For Whitehouse, the boys varsity will host Justin Northwest on Saturday, Nov. 4 (time to be announced) and travel to Longview for a 10 a.m. contest on Saturday, Nov. 11. The first regular non-district game will be Nov. 17, when the ninth, JV and varsity squads host Athens beginning at 5 p.m.

Wildcat girls ninth, JV and varsity teams will travel to Brownsboro for a scrimmage on Saturday, Nov. 4 (time to be announced). Their first game will be Saturday, Nov. 11, with the ninth-graders playing at noon.

The Troup Tigers scrimmage Sabine in Troup on Tuesday, Nov. 7, and then play in Rusk on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Both matches will be held at 5 p.m. Their first non-district game will be Tuesday, Nov. 21 at home against Winona, with JV beginning at 5 p.m.

The Lady Tigers travel to Henderson on Saturday, Nov. 4 for their only scrimmage. JV plays at 10 a.m. with varsity following. Their first game will be Saturday, Nov. 11 hosting Rusk. Games begin at 10 a.m.

Schedules for the Ladycats and Lady Tigers will be published next week, along with previews of this year's teams.

Boys schedules and previews will be published on Nov. 16.
