Travis C. McGuire Sr.

Services for Travis Clinton McGuire Sr., 95, Whitehouse, were held Nov. 4 at Adams Funeral Home, Wellington.

Burial was in North Fairview Cemetery under direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home, Wills Point.

Mr. McGuire died Oct. 31 in Whitehouse.

He was born Feb. 13, 1911, in Altus, Okla., to the late Clinton and Ella Stephens McGuire. He lived in Meadow until 1936, when he moved to Collingsworth County, where he served on Quail School Board for 14 years as a member and board president, and also served on Co-Op Gin Board and the ASCS Committee. He moved to Amarillo in 1986, where he lived until moving recently to Whitehouse. He was a Baptist, and was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Oma Lee Brisbin McGuire, in 1992; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include son, Travis McGuire Jr., Greenbank, Wash.; daughter, Sherry Hiett, Tyler; sister, Thelma Box, Lubbock; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
