Jerry Don Sharp

Services for Jerry Don Sharp, 69, Troup, were held Sunday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Portwood officiating.

Burial was in Whitehouse Cemetery. Mr. Sharp died Nov. 3, 2006 at Hospice Homeplace.

He was born March 31, 1937 in Concord to the late Charlie Sharp and Ada Waggner Sharp. He was a pipe fitter at Kelly Springfield for 28 years before his retirement.

Mr. Sharp attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a graduate of Carlisle High School.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Fleming and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 46 yrs., Deverne Sharp of Troup; son, Gregory James Sharp of Troup; daughter, Tracy Sharp of Troup; brother, Lawrence Sharp of Troup; sister, Ruth Cotton of Whitehouse; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Rex Martin, Bobby Martin, Gene Kee , Randy Martin, Steve Cotton and Joe Wilson.

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund.
