Ladycats look good in first matchups

The varsity Ladycats showed promise in scrimmages held against Brownsboro and Lindale on Saturday, Nov. 4, according to head coach Willie Hill.

"I saw lots of positive things from the ladies," said Coach Hill. "They hustled and played aggressive defense and were able to withstand pressure from Brownsboro and Lindale."

As far as improvement, Hill said the team needs to be more consistent, and hit more free throws.

"We took care of the ball pretty good," he said. "Overall, there was more positive than negative."

Next up for the Cats is Carthage in a home game on Saturday, Nov. 11, with the ninth grade game starting at noon. Whitehouse defeated a Carthage team with no seniors by just two points last year, said Hill, who predicted a good contest again this year.
