Troup High School theater students won second place at the Van High School Performing Arts Festival on Saturday, Nov. 4. Competing against nine other 2A, 3A and 4A schools, the Troup team missed first place by only one percentage point, said Melissa Freeman, theater director. Winning awards were: Haleigh Roach and Megan Dowdy - Red Ribbons in Improvisation & Mask Design, Blue Ribbon in Broadway Lip Sync; Sarah Mendolia - Red Ribbons in Broadway Lip Sync & Audition, Blue Ribbon in Cold Audition; BJ Rambo - White Ribbon in Audition, Red Ribbons in Broadway Lip Sync & Cold Audition; John Ross - Blue Ribbon in Cold Audition; and Cody LePelley (not pictured) - Red Ribbon in Improvisation.
