Lady Tigers off to good start

The Troup Lady Tigers have gotten off to a good start, going 2-0 in two closely contested opening games.

The Lady Tigers added an unscheduled game against Gladewater, and then defeated the Bears 42-41 in overtime on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

Leading the way for the team was junior Janna Ross with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Shunacee Stewart added 10 points and 3 rebounds, Abby Darden 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals, Lauren Worl 8 points, and Christina Cline 2 points.

Against Rusk on Friday, Nov. 10, the team pulled out another close one, this time winning in triple overtime, 67-62.

Ross had an impressive game, pouring in 33 points and pulling down 20 rebounds. She also had 2 steals.

Other Lady Tiger stats include Alysha Barton, 9 points and 2 rebounds; Darden 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal and 3 assists; Stewart, 8 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal; and Casey Smith, 6 points, 3 rebounds.
