Crawford signs letter of intent

WHS senior Stephany Crawford recently signed a letter of intent with Southeastern Oklahoma State University to play fast-pitch softball.

The road to Durant, Okla., has been paved with many years on the diamond as a catcher for Crawford. She started playing ball at the

age of nine. She has played select travel ball with the High Voltage Gold team for the past seven years.

Crawford is currently in her fourth year on the Lady Cats varsity fast-pitch softball team. She also excelled in Lady Cat volleyball. The Savage Storm, as they

are known, enter the 2007 season as defending LSC North Division Champions after finishing with a 42-14 record and advancing to the MCAA South Central Regionals.

Crawford's academic plans include a major in math and science while at SOSU.

"Of all the places we visited and look into, Centenary College was my favorite," Holcomb said. "And the coach was my favorite, too." According to Holcomb, Centenary College has a big swim program. She will also be running cross country there. "I plan to major in nutrition. I've always wanted to work as a trainer or dietician," Holcomb said.
