Teams prepare for area playoffs

With one more big win under their belts, the Whitehouse Wildcats and the Troup Tigers advance to the Area playoffs in football.

Whitehouse will face Frisco on their home turf at the Pizza Hut Park located at 5600 West Main in Frisco. Take I-20 East to Hwy. 80 at Terrell. Continue on Hwy. 80 to I-635 North to reach the Dallas Tollway. Head north on the Tollway approximately 16 miles and the stadium will be located on your right hand side at the intersection of Main St. and the Dallas North Tollway in Frisco.

Tickets for Friday's game were sold on Tuesday at the Administration office and will be sold at the gate for $7. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. for 6 p.m. kickoff.

With school not in session this week, no organized pep rally is scheduled, but the community is welcome to come out and watch the Cats practice on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Right now plans are for the team to leave the school at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.

The football moms invite everyone to come for a "wave-off" as the buses leave for the game.

Troup will tangle with Hooks on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Jack V. Murphy Stadium in Gladewater.

Take Highway 271 North to Gladewater. In Gladewater, take a left on Gay Avenue to Gladewater High School.

The stadium is on campus. Tickets will be sold at the gate.

Downtown Troup will be the site of the pep rally, Friday at 3:30, and send of f for the team.
