Rev. Odis Munns Rev. Odis Munns, 74, of Walton, passed away Nov. 15, in Walton after a long illness. Services were held Nov. 18, at Zion Hill Assembly of God Church in Walton with Rev. Jimmy Munns and Rev. Wes Bynum officiating. Burial was in Zion Hill Cemetery, Walton, under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Rev. Munns was born Jan. 9, 1932, in Walton to Jefferson Winfield and Clara Mae Stephens Munns. He was a member of Zion Hill Assembly of God Church in Walton, where he pastored for 37 years. He is the Pastor Emeritus. He also served as a Youth Representative and Committeeman for the Athens Section for several years. He served as the Presbyter of the Athens Section for the Assemblies of God for 10 years. He was a lifelong resident of Walton. He served as a deputy for the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Department for 17 years. He enjoyed farming, ranching and fishing. He was loved and respected by all. He was also a volunteer fireman with the South Van Zandt Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Yuvonne Munns, Walton; sons, Jeff Munns and wife Teresa, Walton, Jimmy Munns and wife Martha, Tucson, Ariz.; daughters, Dalpha Kelly and husband Bryan, Longview, Bee Bynum and husband Wes, Troup, Sharon Hanna, Overton; sister-in-law, Dortha Munns, Walton; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Winfield Munns, Thomas Munns, Joel Munns, Connor Munns, Terrence Kelley, Shawn Kelley, Ben Bynum, Jason James, David Hoskins, Michael Hanna and Matthew Hanna. |
