Jim Ozment GARDEN VALLEY - Services for James Travis Ozment were held Nov. 15, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Musslewhite officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Henderson County, under the direction of Hilliard Funeral Home, Van. Mr. Ozment passed away at the age of 78 on Nov. 13, in a Tyler hospital. He was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Gadsden, Ala., to William Elridge Ozment and Ruth Lee Huff Ozment. He had been a resident of Smith County most of his life and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. He retired from Tyler Pipe as a supervisor, specializing as a pattern maker and molder. He also owned and operated J&J Foundry, where he continued his love for pattern molding with aluminum. He was also a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and started the Men's Breakfast at Union Chapel United Methodist Church many years ago. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Jean Ozment of Garden Valley; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kerr y Ozment of Bentonville, Ark., and Herbie and Teresa Taylor of Mineral Wells; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne and Leonard Kirkham of Van, and Mary Ann and Everett Watson of Doyline, La.; two brothers, W.E. "Billy" Ozment Jr. and wife Velida of Vidor, and Bob Ozment of Bullard; two sisters, Joyce Smith and husband Jimmie of Whitehouse, and Lois Breeden and husband Frank of Tyler; sister-in-law, Inez Ozment of Bullard; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mel Biggs, Carl Hembree, Ed Cross, Junior York, Billy Walsh, Bill Middleton, Myril Zigler and Dennis Worthen. Dr. Helen Graham, Dr. James Stanford and Dr. Frank Ward serves as honorary pallbearers. If desired, memorials may be made to Union Chapel United Methodist Church, PO. Box 237, Van, 75790. |
