YMCA set for Reindeer and Fun Run

Tyler YMCA 5K Reindeer and Fun Run, Dec. 2. 5K race starts at 8:30 a.m., Fun Run to follow. For registration information call 903-593-7327.

Library and Komen quilt benefit raffle

Raffle tickets for the "Colors of Autumn" quilt remain on sale at Aunt Lillie's Antiques in Troup, Tri County Leader in Whitehouse and Troup Municipal Library. The final drawing will take place Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Troup Municipal Library at 6 p.m. along with a Christmas Open House. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10.

Writers Guild to meet

The East Texas Writers Guild will meet Monday, Dec. 4 at The Texas Store in Bullard. The business meeting is at 6:30 p.m. and the program will start at 7 p.m. Speaker Lenora Nazworth will discuss "Holiday Inspiration: How to Write a Holiday Theme." ETWG meetings are open to published and aspiring writers of every genre on the first Monday of every month except on holidays when meetings will be on the second Monday. The Texas Store is located at 51559 Highway 69 in Bullard.

Dixie Masonic Lodge to Meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Game Day for Senior Citizens

Game Day for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup Library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Whitehouse Library Board meeting

The Whitehouse Library Board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. at the library.

Troup Christmas Parade set

The Troup Christmas Parade is set for Thursday, Dec. 7 beginning at 6 p.m. Visits with Santa and the tree lighting will follow the parade at the library.

Whitehouse Christmas Parade coming

The Whitehouse Christmas Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9. Following the parade everyone is invited to the park to help decorate the community Christmas tree, visit with Santa and enjoy music of the season.

Project Joy collections continue

Whitehouse schools, churches and organizations continue collecting money and non-perishable can goods for Project Joy. If you would like to help and want to know how contact Ray Baldwin at Tyler Metro Church.

Whitehouse UMC Hanging of the Greens

Whitehouse United Methodist Church invites you to join in the celebration of Christ's birthday during the "Hanging of the Greens" on Sun., Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.

First Baptist Forerunners to meet

The Forerunners, Senior Adults of First Baptist Church in Troup, will meet Mon., Dec 4 for noon covered dish luncheon. The Paul Lucas Band will entertain with a Christmas program.

FBC youth present musical

The youth choir and drama group of the First Baptist Church of Whitehouse proudly presents "Twas The Last Mailing Day Before Christmas" on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the church office.

School Related Activities

Troup play performances set

The Troup High School theatre and elementary music departments present "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever." Evening performances are set for Nov. 30 & Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Troup HS auditorium. Box office opens one hour before the show with admission $4 for adults and $2 for students.

Junior High picture retakes Friday

Picture retakes will be Friday, Dec. 1 at WJHS. This is the last chance for fall picutres or to make the yearbook. Forms are available in the north office.

Troup Band Booster meeting

Troup Band Boosters will meet Monday, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the THS Band Hall.

Whitehouse Band Boosters

Whitehouse Band Boosters will meet Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the WHS Band Hall.

Sports Related Activities

Diamond Club meets Dec. 4

The Whitehouse High School Softball Diamond Cub will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in the Commons Area at the high school. All parents of freshman through senior players are urged to attend. For questions, call Mike Costlow at 903-570-7639.
