Civic League hosting park event

The Whitehouse Women's Civic League is set to host their first Christmas in the Park following the parade on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Activities will include making decorations for the community Christmas tree, visits with Santa and music of the season.

The decorations will include birdfriendly seed filled pine cones and other items that promote recycling.

Children of all ages are invited to come and make the decorations for the tree.

All weatherproof and appropriate decorations are welcome. If you have something meeting those criteria and would like to donate them to the community tree, just bring them to the park that morning and take a hand in the decorating. The tree will come from the Shahan Ranch property courtesy of Brent Conaway.

Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa following the parade. He will be on hand to hear everyone's wish list and pose for pictures.

Activities will wrap up around 1 p.m.
