Albert Dews Services for Albert L. Dews, 72, Troup, were held Nov. 29 at Whitehouse Church of God in Christ with Supt. Noel Caldwell officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery in Whitehouse. Mr. Dews died Nov. 23, 2006 in Whitehouse. He was born Nov. 21, 1934, in Whitehouse. He was a painter supervisor for U.T. Health Center in Tyler and a lifelong resident of Smith County. He attended Stanton High School. He was a member of the Mt. Elem Baptist Church of Whitehouse. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Dews, Troup; daughters, Terri Dews, Elissa Dews and Coleen Dews all of Troup, Karen Dews of Whitehouse, Patricia Hayter and Colette Baker both of Tyler; brothers, Melvin Dews of Oakwood; John Dews of Arizona and Ronald Dews of Tyler; sisters, Pearline Jones, Frances Jones, Ruby Scott of Arizona, Annie Green, Linda White, Rhonda Hawkins, Debra Woods of Tyler, Essie Dorsey, Etheline Oglesby of Wisconsin and Doris Carter of Houston; and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Carnivorus Dews, Melvin Dews, Jr., Frankie Green, Paul Dews, Tyrone Waters, Ronald Dews, Rufus Dews and Jimmie Ray. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Hudson, Jason Jackson, Richard Bradley, Melvin Dews, Dennis Mackey, Jerry Mackey, Robert Mackey and Burrell Mackey, Jr. |
