Vivian Kirby Porter
Mrs. Porter died Monday, Nov. 20, in a Whitehouse nursing home. She was born Nov. 8, 1913, to Andrew J. and Edna Lee Partin Kirby in Mixon (Cherokee County) and lived the majority of her life in the Tyler and New Harmony area. Mrs. Porter was a waitress for 51 years at Dock's Steak House and the Cox Grill. Survivors include niece, Lynda Lacy, the pride and joy and light of her life; two great-nephews, David Carpenter and Steven Carpenter, both of Troup; great-great-niece, Hannah Carpenter of Troup; daughter, Billie Jo Webb of Jacksonville; four sons, A.L. Buffalo of Houston, Geral Danial Buffalo of Idaho, Carroll Buffalo of Hauton, La., and Harold Buffalo. of Denton; 10 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Ludi Lee, Birdie Thieleman and Margaret Shick. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her husband, L.L. Porter; sister, Geraldine Burns and husband Chester; daughter, Treva Dennis and husband R.L.; and three grandsons. Pallbearers are Harold, Carroll and A.L. Buffalo, Eugene Carpenter, Jerry Brown and Kenneth Snodgrass. |
