Robert Russell Mass for Robert Russell, 86, Whitehouse, was celebrated Nov. 27 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Daugherty officiating. Burial was in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, Tyler. Mr. Russell died Nov. 24, in Tyler. He was born Jan. 11, 1920, in Mount Pleasant to the late Clay L. Russell and Ethel Traylor. He served in the Navy during World War II, and was a field superintendent with Exxon (formerly Humble Oil) from 1945 until retirement in 1980. He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Elizabeth Werner Russell, Whitehouse; sons, Bob Russell, San Diego, Calif., and Gerald Russell, Fulshear; daughters, , Kathy Barnett, Lake Palestine, and Dee Bice, Whitehouse; sister, Grace Richards, Mount Pleasant; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sam Russell, Robert Traylor Russell, Frank Werner, Matthew Barnett, Randy Russell and James Somerford.
