EDITORIAL I could not be more proud! The Whitehouse Wildcats are Area Champions in football! The road to this championship was a tough one and the end was heartbreaking. You have shown us, again, that hard work and dedication pays off. It was your time, it was your season and with the excellent leadership of Randy McFarlin and the rest of the coaching staff you have written a new chapter in Whitehouse football history. As a fan who has spent the past 21 years in the stands cheering on Wildcat football teams, I have witnessed heartbreaking defeats and heart-stopping victories. This season has been a wonderful lesson in teamwork and perseverance. Thank you all for the great ride. Thanks for taking us along. I was so proud to attend all these playoff games with what seemed like the entire city. Like the sign on the side of the road said last week, “Last one out of town, turn off the lights!” How exciting to see our side of stands filled from end zone to end zone, week after week. This following and support was that “12th man” that our Wildcats needed to continue their winning ways. Let me take a moment to chastise those of you who left before Saturday’s game was over. Our guys were not quitters and you should not have been either. Yes it was cold and yes the score was bad, but those guys deserve our support through to the bitter end. This will be the season talked about for years to come. Again, thanks for taking us along on the ride. I just can’t wait for next season. But while we wait, let’s get in the stands and cheer on the basketball teams, then the soccer teams and then baseball and softball. That Wildcat power, passion and pride can’t stop now!
