Gene Miles

Graveside services for Gene Miles, 77, of Whitehouse, were held, Dec. 4, at Moore Memorial Garden in Arlington with Dr. Harold Brunson officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. He passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, in Whitehouse.

Mr. Miles was born Oct. 22, 1929, to the late Ernest William and Irene Davis Miles in Winnsboro. He was retired and selfempIoyed as a car salesman and owned a paint and body shop: He has lived in Tyler, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Nev., and Arlington before. moving to Whitehouse. In his early years; he lived in Hawley, near Abilene, where he worked on his family farm and attended school at Hawley and Anson. He was a Baptist and served in the United States Army:

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Miles; brothers, Larry and Gerald Miles; and son; Kenneth Miles.

He is survived by stepsons, Terry Shores of Arlington and Michael Shores of Keller; step-daughter, Lynn Shores of Cedar Park; sons, Gary Miles of Idaho and Mark Miles of Texas; sisters, Jewel Murphrey of Tyler and Marjory Hall of Whitehouse; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
