James F ‘Jack’ Nelson

Services for James Ferris “Jack” Nelson, 79, Troup, were held Dec. 2 at Memorial Funeral Home chapel Tyler, with Brother Bob Logan officiating.

Mr. Nelson died Nov. 29, in Tyler.

He was born May 18, 1927, in Blythewood, S.C., to the late Jack and Ola Nelson. He lived in Winnsboro, S.C., before moving to Troup. He was a service technician for a tire and alignment service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Hendrix Nelson, one grandchild, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include sons, James Theodore Nelson, Hallsville, John David Nelson, Grand Prairie, and Glen Franklin Nelson, Troup; daughters, Brenda Gail Salas, Dallas, Marian Ann Seay and Ola Marie Addington, both of Troup, Farris Denise O’Brien, Hermitage, Pa., and Vickie Lynn Howie, Sevierville, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grand-children; three sisters; nieces and nephews
