Varsity Lady Cats earn road win over Palestine

Led by Caroline Perrier’s 14 points, the varsity Lady Cats rolled past Palestine, 38-26, on the road Tuesday, Nov. 28. The win improved the team’s preseason record to 3-4.

Whitehouse established themselves quickly, earning an 11-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter. An aggressive defense kept Palestine at bay as they fought to catch up the entire game.

Palestine outscored the Lady Cats in the third quarter, 11-6, but still trailed 27-20 going into the fourth.

Other top scorers were Brittani Toole with 7, Shelly Williams 5, Lauren Clarida 4 and Kayla Mason 4.

Defensively, Mason led the Cats with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, followed by Toole with 7 rebounds and 2 steals, Perrier 6 and 2, Williams 5 and 2, and Jordan Knight 4 and 2.

“We had a good team effort, but are still inconsistent in some areas that need more work,” said head coach Willie Hill. “There’s more positive than negative, and we are headed in the right direction.”
