Gold Performance awards given at board meeting

At Monday’s school board meeting, Supt. Marvin Beaty and Dr. Katie Preast, diector of curriculum, presented Texas Education Agency Gold Performance awards to Troup ISD principals Debbie Moxley, Ava Johnson and Derek Driver.

Awards given at the meeting were:

Elementary - Commended on Writing, Commended on Math, Commended on Science, Commended on Reading/ English Language Arts;

Middle School - Commended on Writing, Commended on Social Studies;

High School - Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion, Comparable Improvement in Reading/ELA, Recommended High School Program, Texas Success Initiative in Mathematics.

Dr. Preast accepted the following awards for the district: Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion, Commended on Writing, Recommended High School Program, and Texas Success Initiative in Mathematics.

All Troup campuses earned Recognized status on TAKS testing.
