Community Activities

Tyler Aggie’s Mom’s Club meets

Tyler Aggie’s Mom’s Club will present the Texas A&M Singing Cadets at First Baptist Church in Tyler on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance; $12 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at Austin Bank (Old Bullard Rd), Elaine’s Dress Shop in Jacksonville, Elliott’s Pharmacy in Hideaway, and the Lindale Main & Shipping House, First Baptist Church in Tyler and any member of the A&M Mother’s Club. This is a major fundraiser for student scholarships.

Whitehouse library activities

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Karing Kitchen

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ. For information, call 903-592-0809.

Church Related Activities

Churches join together for presentation

Two Church Youth Departments, Mt. Elem and New Hope Congolee Baptist churches combine to present the Christmas musical “The Christmas Star”, Saturday, Dec. 23, at 4:00 pm at New Hope Congolee Church. Hot apple cider for all.

First Presbyterian holds candle lighting service

First Presbyterian Church of Troup will hold the annual Candle Lighting Service, Sunday, Dec. 24 at 5 p.m. The church is located at the corner of S. Carolina and Calvert streets. Everyone is invited to attend. There will be no morning service on that Sunday.
