Neva Shaw Denton

Graveside services for Neva Shaw Denton, 91, Troup, were held Dec. 15 at Bradford Cemetery, Troup, with the Rev. Dennis Harvey officiating under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mrs. Denton died Dec. 13, 2006, at a Tyler hospice.

She was born Aug. 30, in Cherokee County to the late Denman and Alice Mayfield Shaw.

She was a lifelong resident of Troup, a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, Troup.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Denton; and sisters, Lucy Shaw, Mary Shaw, Ottie Mae Jordan and Nan Barron.

Survivors include son, Denman Denton, Troup; daughter, Mary Doug Pond, Troup; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.’
