Celebrating TISD’s 2006 accomplishments

I want to offer 32 reasons we can celebrate the passing of 2006 with cheer. It is at this time we can all be thankful to be a part of Troup ISD.

-- TISD has recently completed the largest bond package in our history,

-- together we raised the cumulative TAKS scores 100+ points,

-- TISD once again significantly increased commended scores,

-- Troup Middle School, Troup High School and Troup Elementary School are “Recognized” campuses,

-- we operate a successful daycare program for faculty and community members,

-- we operate a successful Aftercare program for elementary students,

-- TISD awarded over $100,000 TAKS monetary and grant rewards for the faculty and staff,

-- TISD significantly increased the amount of technology in the district for faculty and student use,

-- Troup High School received Gold Performance Acknowledgments in “Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion,” “Comparable Improvement in Reading ELA,” “Recommended High School Program,” and “Texas Success Initiative in Mathematics,”

-- Troup Middle School received Gold Performance Acknowledgments in “Commended in Social Studies” and “Commended on Writing,”

-- Troup Elementary School Received Gold Performance Acknowledgments in “Commended scores in Math,” “Commended scores on Writing,” “Commended scores in Science,” and “Commended on reading ELA,”

-- Troup ISD Received Gold Performance Acknowledgments in, “Advanced Course/Dual Enrollment Completion,” ” Commended on Writing,” “Recommended High School Program,” and “Texas Success Initiative in Mathematics,”

-- multiple athletic programs are showing a strong propensity to compete for the district championship and/or to represent TISD in post district competition,

-- the Troup High School Band earned the “Sweepstakes” rating,

-- TISD and the churches of Troup shared the honor of being named the “Outstanding Business of the Year” for working together to host the most successful hurricane relief shelter in all of Smith County,

-- TISD earned the highest rating possible in the Financial Integrity Ratings System of Texas “F.I.R.S.T.” program …

... like the Ever-Ready Bunny, the list goes on and on and on.

I’m certain I have forgotten many of our accomplishments. These are just the ones that cross my mind at the moment, It is my prayer that each of you will offer yourselves a moment of personal congratulations for making Troup ISD into a great place for children and adults to work and learn.
