The Whitehouse Wildcats played a solid three quarters last Tuesday night against rival Chapel Hill at home.

The Bulldogs would make a strong fourth quarter comeback before coming up short to the Cats, 65-60. With the win, the Wildcats extended their season record to 13-1.

Cade Clark led the Wildcats in scoring with 22 points, 18 of those coming in the second half to help the Wildcats keep their lead during the Bulldog comeback. Kyle Ford added 18, while Mitch Marquis had 10 on the night.

“We had way too many turnovers. Twenty-one turnovers for a smart team is not acceptable, and that, along with our poor shooting percentage, let Chapel Hill back in the game,” said Coach Wally Dawkins.

“As bad as I felt we played, we still beat a very good team, and that is a sign of how good of a team we have,” said Dawkins.

Next up for the Wildcats is the TJC Wagstaff Tournament which is a holiday tradition for Whitehouse.

In pool play, the Wildcats played Grace Community at 8:30 Wednesday night and will play Bullard tonight at 7 p.m.

“I don’t expect any easy games this year at TJC. When other teams play Whitehouse, and with us coming in with a 13-1 record, they will give their best effort to knock us off,” said Coach Dawkins.
