Lady Tigers win nail-biter over Raiders

Troup withstood a fourthquarter charge to defeat the West Rusk Lady Raiders 37-35 Tuesday, Dec. 19. The win gave the Lady Tigers are 3-0 district start.

The contest was close all the way, with Troup pulling slightly ahead in the third period, outscoring West Rusk 14-10.

The Lady Tigers were led by Janna Ross with 13 and Alysha Barton with 12 points. Ross also contributed 13 rebounds.

Other Troup scorers were Shunacee Stewart with 5, Abby Darden 4, Lauren Worl 2 and Diyamon Martin 1.

Martin also pulled down 8 boards and caused 2 turnovers, followed by Worl with 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

Darden led her team in assists with 6, followed by Barton with 2.

Casey Smith and Stewart both had 4 rebounds, and Stewart contributed 3 steals and 3 blocks.
