JV, freshmen top Chapel Hill

Mitch Marquis hits a lay-up for the Wildcats in the team’s comeback victory over Chapel Hill. Next up for the Wildcats is the TJC Wagstaff Tournament. In pool play, the Wildcats played Grace Community at 8:30 Wednesday night and will play Bullard tonight at 7 p.m.
The Wildcat junior varsity came out gunning from the outside last week against rival Chapel Hill. The Cats held a commanding 42-20 lead at the half and would go on to cruise to a 68-48 win at home.

The Cats did most of their damage from behind the arc as they knocked down 10 threepointers on the night.

Brady Attaway nailed three of those long-range shots on his way to a game-high 17 points. Drew Flynn followed with 15 points as he connectedt on three treys of his own.

The freshman Wildcats also enjoyed success against the Dogs as they used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Chapel Hill, 46-24.

Jace Ainsworth led the scoring attack with 9 points followed by Skip Caldwell with 8, and Payton Smith and Will Palmer with 7 points each.

Both the JV and freshman teams are off during the holidays and return to action Jan. 2 as they travel to Kilgore to begin district play.
