Services for Jerry Pettigrew, 67, Inglewood, Calif., formerly of Tyler, were held May 21, 2007 at True Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Inglewood, Calif., with the Rev. James A. Perkins, eulogist.
He was born Jan. 3, 1940 to Roosevelt and Annie Pettigrew. He was a graduate of Emmett Scott Senior High School in Tyler. He was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Favors Pettigrew; father, Roosevelt Pettigrew Sr.; and brother, Roosevelt Pettigrew Jr.
Survivors include children, Lisa Hawkins, Gloria Logan, Thelma Pettigrew, Jerry Pettigrew Jr., Ladonna Pettigrew, JaJuan Pettigrew, Ebony Pettigrew; brothers, Courtney Pettigrew and Robert Pettigrew, both of Whitehouse, Thomas Pettigrew, Tyler; sisters, Louise Bryant, Dallas, Beatrice Crocker and Virgie Lester, both of Fort Worth, Ann Lincoln of Los Angeles, Calif., Lola Rutherford of Tyler and Deborah Robertson of Mansfield; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dante Gipson, Melvin Gipson, Dawaun Gipson, Anthony McGurn, Terrance Williams, Ronnie Williams and Lementry Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Pettigrew, Robert Pettigrew, Courtney Pettigrew, Frank Logan, Albert Hopkins, Eddie Lee Favors, Eddie Lee Favors Jr., Gerald Williams and Marcus Gipson.
