Cats open district with win
      The Whitehouse Wildcats got the district campaign off to a good start Tuesday night with an impressive 63-49 win on the road at Kilgore. The Wildcats came out hot from the field in the first quarter and took a commanding 37- 19 lead at the half on their way to the win.

Kilgore downs Whitehouse girls
      The Whitehouse Lady Cats suffered a tough loss at home Tuesday night falling to Kilgore 52-48. Kayla Mason and Brittani Toole each hit 14 points, with Caroline Perrier adding 10. The Lady Cat JV also fell to the Lady 'Dogs, 43-33, while the freshmen took home a victory with a score of 26-15.

Tatum outclaws Lady Tigers
      Missing key freethrows down the stretch, the Troup Lady Tigers lost their first district game Tuesday night against Tatum. The contest was closer than the 50-39 score indicates, as the Lady Eagles got several trips to the charity stripe in the final two minutes of play.

JV, freshman Cats earn road wins over Dogs
      The Whitehouse JV & freshman teams opened district play Tuesday night with big road wins against Kilgore. In the JV game, Blake Anglin and Seth Cashion led the scoring attack with 15 and 10 points respectively, as the Cats earned a 54-27 win over the Bulldogs.

Tigers compete in annual tourney
      The Troup Tigers had a disappointing Wagstaff Tournament appearance, going 0- 3 in their match-ups. In the tournament opener, the Tigers fell 39-59 to Van, fueled by a 21-4 third-quarter scoring deficit. The Tigers were led in scoring by Cordell Jiles with 13 and Reginald Wade with 10.

      Troup's Lady Tigers competed in the Gladewater Classic and picked up two non-district victories over Union Grove and Gladewater. Toole picked by state sports writers
      Senior Brittani Toole earned first-team honors on the Collin Street Bakery-Texas Sports Writers Association All-State Volleyball Team, the organization announced. Toole led her team to the second round of playoffs with 491 kills, 76 blocks, 404 service points and 55 service aces.
