Oddie B. 'Shug' McClendon

Services for Oddie B. "Shug" McClendon, Tyler, were held Wednesday at Liberty Baptist Church, Troup, with the Rev. Edgar E. Roberson officiating.

Burial was in Liberty Cemetery under direction of Brooks- Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.

Mrs. McClendon died Dec. 29, 2006 in a Tyler hospice. She was born Dec. 4 in Elkhart to Fitchel and Etta Shelton. She attended Liberty schools, was a resident of Smith County for more than 50 years, and was a housekeeper. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a choir member for many years and served as church cook.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Survivors include daughter, Pat McClendon Mackey, Tyler; brother, Q.T Shelton, Troup; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steven Mims, James Wade Jr., H.D. Minor and Paul Green.

Deacons of Liberty Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
