Cats open district with win

The Whitehouse Wildcats got the district campaign off to a good start Tuesday night with an impressive 63-49 win on the road at Kilgore.

The Wildcats came out hot from the field in the first quarter and took a commanding 37- 19 lead at the half on their way to the win.

Kyle Ford led the Cats in scoring with 14, which included 3-3 from behind the arc in the first quarter to help get the Wildcats the early lead.

Ford was followed by Mitch Marquis with 13 points on solid play from the point guard position, and Cade Clark added 11.

The win puts the Cats season record at 17-2 and 1-0 in district play. Whitehouse will return to the court Friday night at home against Jacksonville.
