Quilter's Guild of East Texas to meet

The Quilter's Guild of East Texas will meet Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the TASCA building, 3402 Old Omen Rd. in Tyler.

Troup VFW will meet Thursday, Jan.11 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library.

Blood Drive Saturday

East Texans unite for life through the Battle for Life Blood Drive Saturday, Jan. 13 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Whitehouse. Stewart Regional Blood Center reminds you to eat prior to donating and bring your driver's license.

Rabbit clinic on Friday

Whitehouse 4-H will host its 4th annual Rabbit Clinic Jan. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The clinic will be held at the Smith County Extension Service located at 1517 W. Front St., Room 116, in Tyler. Guest speakers include Pam Heaton of Heaton Rabbitry, April Reeves, a Texas A&M rabbit research specialist and Holly Anderson, TRBA youth chairman. Youth fishing program on Saturday

Adults are invited to bring a child and mentor them while fishing for rainbow trout during the Trails to Trout program Saturday, Jan. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 pm. The fishing events will be held at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Nature Center pond on Bascom Road between Tyler and Whitehouse.

Rubber Duckie, You're the One!

Bring your Rubber Duckie and help celebrate Rubber Duckie's birthday at the Whitehouse Community Library Saturday, Jan. 13 at 3:30 pm.

Chili Cook Off fund-raiser ahead

Azalea Gardens Church of God invites the community attend a Chili Cook Off on Saturday, Jan. 13 from noon to 3 pm. Entry cost is $10 with prizes for the top three entries. Saturday Night Worship in Troup

First United Methodist Church in Troup is beginning a new worship service this Saturday, Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. It is a worship service designed for those of us who are out of gas when Sunday rolls around. It is for those of us who have something scheduled every day of the week EXCEPT Sunday. NO SUITS ALLOWED! Join us for casual, relaxed, heart-felt worship in a place where you can belong.

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Weight loss support group meets Mondays

The Tyler Area Low Glycemic Weight Loss Support Group meets every Monday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at 5111 Troup Hwy., Ste. 108 (corner of Shiloh and Troup Highway) in Tyler. Meetings are free. For more information, call 903-839-7634.

Karing Kitchen

The Karing Kitchen offers free hot meals to anyone in need on Monday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The Karing Kitchen is sponsored by five Tyler Churches of Christ and is located at 420 W. Erwin in the fellowship building of West Erwin Church of Christ. For information, call 903-592-0809.

Troup American Legion hosts karaoke

Troup American Legion Post 418 has karaoke every Saturday night from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Women's revival at Jacksonville church

Amen Sister Girlfriend Holy Water Revival is coming to Fellowship Bible Church, 1817 E. Rusk, St., Jacksonville, on Jan. 27. The nationally-known women's tour group includes Dove- Award winning singer/songwriter Kim McLean, author/ speaker and syndicated radio host Devon O'Day, humorist Donna K. Rice, and author/radio personalityDebra White Smith. The event will be a one-day spiritual celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. A love offering will be taken.

Government Related Activities

Whitehouse town hall meeting

The public is encouraged to attend a town hall meeting to discuss future park development and water needs and solutions for the City of Whitehouse. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 at Cain Elementary.
