GOOD FOR YOU
Donna Gail Shaw (left) has come a long way since graduating from Troup High School in 1974. The graduate of Tyler Junior College, Stephen F. Austin and North Texas State University is now a professor and associate dean for Student and Curriculum Affairs at the University of Alaska Anchorage. During her years at SFA, Shaw became a member of the Kappa Delta Pi honor society. She later received a $1,000 scholarship from the group that helped her finish her doctorate. As a way of paying back that debt, she recently endowed the Donna Gail Shaw Scholarship for Chapter Service. Shaw created the $1,000 annual scholarship with an initial gift of $25,000 but hopes to increase the endowment through donations. Contributions to the scholarhsip can be made online at http:// www.kdp.org/forms/foundation donation.php (designate your donation by placing the fund name in the "in honor of" field); by calling 800-284-3167; or by mailing a donation to The Educational Foundation, 3707 Woodview Trace, Indianapolis, IN 46268. Donations are tax deductible. Shaw is pictured with Pamela Buckley, KDP executive director.
