Ora Berry Blake

CANTON - Graveside services for Ora Berry Blake, 88, Canton, were held Monday at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.

Mrs. Blake died Jan. 4, 2007, in Canton.

She was born July 27, 1918, in Hogan, Ark., to the late Owen and Cynthia Jane Groves Betty. She grew up in Arkansas and lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., during World War II where she worked for Douglas Aircraft. She then moved to Dallas and attended Draughn's Business School. She was a commercial artist for Garland Daily News for several years, and after retire-ment moved to Whitehouse. She lived in Canton for the last 11 years, and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Tyler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Blake, one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include son, Carey Blake, Austin; sisters, Deborah Dunn, Navarre, Fla., and Hallie Fay Holden, Benicia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Carey Blake, Chris Blake, Rex Wilt, David Dunn and Joe Dunn Jr.
