Roy H. Clem

Services for Roy H. Clem, 90, of the Henry's Chapel community near Troup were held Jan. 12 at the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Tolbert Dill officiating. Burial was in the Henry's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mr. Clem died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 in a Tyler hospice facility. He was born Oct. 10, 1916 in Cherokee County to the late Alvah Percival Clem and Irena Warren Clem.

He was a lifetime resident of Troup and was a lifetime member of the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Dixie Masonic Lodge #272, Troup.

He married Minnie Lee Kee, December 21, 1938.

Mr. Clem was an Army Veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clyora Shuttlesworth and Gladys Clem.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Minnie Lee Kee Clem, Henry's Chapel; four sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Becky Clem, Whitehouse, Billy and Rhydonia Clem, Henry's Chapel, Garry and Phyllis Clem, Jacksonville, and Sherman and Brenda Clem, Tyler; two brothers, Herman Nichols, Price and Shirley Clem, Bullard; two sisters, Florene Norman, Flint and Judith Hale, Troup; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Sons served as Pallbearers.
