Nellie Reed

Services for Nellie 'Nell' Reed, 81, Whitehouse, were held Jan. 11 at the Omen Baptist Church, near Troup, with Rev. Kenith Cline officiating. Burial was in the Union Grove Cemetery, near Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mrs. Reed died Jan. 8, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. She was born March 27, 1925 in Berry to the late Rube and Junnie Parker Carter. She was a homemaker and a member of Omen Baptist Church.

Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fred Reed, and sister, Betty Lou Carter.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Fred C. and Vivian Reed, Tyler; two daughters, Brenda Sue Wilkinson and Joyce UTonna Weihe, both of Tyler; a brother, Rube Junior Carter; twelve grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dave Eastham, Leon Carlisle, James Reynolds, Wayne McCarley, Gurley Howell, and Herman Thomas.
