Curtis Evans, Sr.

Services for Curtis L. Evans, Sr., 94, Troup, were held Jan. 13, at the First Baptist Church, Troup, with the Revs. James Cheatham and Mike Jeter officiating. Burial was in the Bradford Cemetery, Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mr. Evans died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. He was born Aug. 17, 1912 in Troup to the late Maris Lee and Annie Marjorie Rowden Evans. He was retired from the Marathon Pipeline Company. He moved back to Troup in 1976. He was a member of the Dixie Masonic Lodge, # 272, and the Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter # 421. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Troup.

Survivors include his wife, Sible Evans, Troup; a son and daughterin law, Curtis Evans, Jr. and Jean Evans, Homer, Michigan; a daughter, Ida E. Moore, Loxley, Alabama; two step daughters, Carol Ann Veal, Mexico, and Shirley Steele, Dripping Spring; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert Evans, Nicholas Evans, Douglas Evans, Leroy Streck, John Adams, and Carl McEver.
