Clarence Porter "C.P." Wilson
Clarence Porter Wilson of Willis was called home Jan. 11 at the age of 83. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Al Locker Jr. of Willis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother John Wilson Jr. and wife Grace of Port Arthur.
His beloved wife, Melba, and son, Butch, have both preceded C.P. to their Heavenly Home.
C.P. was born Oct. 10, 1923 in San Antonio to Alma and John Wilson. He was raised in Concord, where he and Melba grew up in the same community and attended Carlisle High School in Troup together.
On July 2, 1944, he married Melba, and they celebrated 59 years together. They loved to attend yearly school reunions to see old friends.
He served in the Air Force during WWII and, after returning home, began his 40+ year career at Gulf Oil Corporation C.P. and Melba were longtime residents of Port Neches, Texas, before moving to the Lake Conroe/Willis area.
They attended First Baptist Church of Port Neches and loved their many friends there.
