JV, freshmen win on road The Whitehouse JV and freshman boys picked up two big wins on the road last Friday night in Hallsville. The JV triumphed in the more exciting of the two games by giving up the lead late in the fourth quarter and then re-gaining the advantage in the game's final seconds on a three-pointer by Justin Keller to post a 48-44 win. Seth Cashion paced the Wildcats in scoring with 14, while Keller, Tanner Fedell and Drew Flynn all had 8 points each. The win against Hallsville keeps the JV undefeated in district play. The freshman Cats went up against a Hallsville squad that had only lost one game all year and were unblemished in district. The Wildcats failed to read the standings and played their best game of the year, pounding the Bobcats, 53-37. Jace Ainsworth poured in 14 points to lead the offensive attack. Skip Caldwell added 11 points, followed by Payton Smith with 8, Justin Haney with 6 and Jacob Hilburn with 4. "The kids did a great job especially on defense. This was by far our best game of the year," said freshman coach Keith Ellis |
