Betty Inez Howard

Services for Betty Inez Howard, 69, Troup, were held Jan. 20 at the Arbor at Union Grove Cemetery near Troup with the Rev. Jim Norman officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mrs. Howard died Jan. 17, 2007, in a Tyler hospital.

She was born Feb. 21, 1937, in North Wilkesboro, N.C., to the late Lattie Richard and Leona Church. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Howard, on April 16, 2006; grandsons, John Griffin and Seth Oliver; and brothers, Tommy Church, Edward Church and Rayford Church.

Survivors include sons, Johnny Hill, Whitehouse, and Jimmy Howard, Tyler; daughters, Terri Heard, Troup, Sharon Lynn Ray, Corpus Christi, Karen Forshee, Jacksonville, and Jerri Marie Hall, Tyler; brother, L.C. Church, North Carolina; sisters, Shirley Dyer and Mary Lou McGee, both of Roaring River, N.C., and Jean Howard, Troup; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
