One-act play competition Saturday

Area schools will take part in the junior high one-act play contest on Saturday, Jan. 27. Admission is free to the event, which will be held in the high school auditorium. No photos may be taken during contest.

Plays begin at 9 a.m. and an awards and critique session is scheduled for 5 p.m. Whitehouse will perform "Livin' De Life" at 11 a.m., under the direction of Tawana Blair.

erforming in the cast are Kaleb Bass as Brer Terrypin; Cassidy Parker, Brer Coon; Ross Viergever, Brer Rabbit; Matt Lockwood, Brer Fox; Ryan Ralson, Brer Bear; Kayte Frye, Miss Meadows; Madison Melrose, Aunt Mammy- Bammy; Jacqueline Yost, Sis Buzzard; and Caroline Walton, Miss Goose.

Members of the crew are Anisha Upponi, stage director; Daniel Lara, lights; Blake Bevill, sound; and Jonathan Parker, backstage. Other crew members are Kate Ray, Keaton Stainback, Rachel Garlitz and Allie Callaway.
