The Lady Cats started the tournament in a downpour of rain and at least an inch of water on the field. Their first game was against the home team and the Lady Cats did not fair well, losing 0-2. This loss put them in the consolation bracket.
Their next opponent was Taylor on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The weather for the game was much better and the field was dryer. The girls came out shooting with Candace Campsey scoring the first goal with an assist by Julie Woolverton
Kelly Hill scored the next goal with an assist from Heather Lofties.
The next two goals were unassisted: the first by Lindsay Pritchard and the next by Elyssa Parker. This ended the first half with a score of 4-0.
The second half started with Melissa Camp making an awesome stop when pressed by a player one on one. This would be the only serious shot on goal by Taylor.
Pritchard and Woolverton both scored unassisted goals to end the game at 6-0.
The team's next opponent was Bryan on Saturday at 1pm.
The game against Bryan was played in a light rain on a very muddy field. Whitehouse had 12 shots on goal the first half to Bryan's five shots.
This was a defensive game with Whitehouse continually pressing forward and keeping the ball on Bryan's end of the field, thanks to the hard work of Kelly Hill, Brittany Millican and Jordan Jackson along with the quick hands of Melissa Camp. The scoring stared six minutes into the game with Pritchard nailing a goal shot unassisted. She scored again three minutes later with an assist from Parker to end the first half 2-0.
The second half was scoreless with Whitehouse having 12 shots on goal compared to Bryan's 9 shots.
Whitehouse was set to play Dulles at 7 pm. The Dulles coach sought out Coach Brad Jones to forfeit the game.
We do not know if it was the impending weather they were forecasting for the Houston area or the fear of the Wildcats, but the girls won the consolation bracket for the Tomball tournament and now have a record of 3-1 for the season.
