JV, frosh top Mavericks

The Whitehouse JV would pick up their sixth district win against no losses last Friday night at home against Marshall defeating the Mavericks, 40-30, on "Jimmy Buffet Night" at Wildcat Arena.

Things would not look good early on as a sluggish first half saw the Wildcats go down one point at the half, 18-19.

However, a 15-6 run in the third quarter would turn things around for the 'Cats and give them the cushion they would need to pull out the win.

Blake Anglin would lead the scoring for the Wildcats with 13 points while Seth Cashion would add 7, and Tanner Fedell would have 6.

In the freshman game, the Wildcats would have another close game with the Mavericks before pulling out the 36-28 victory. Skip Caldwell would provide the scoring spark needed on the night with 18 points, and Justin Haney would add 7 in the win.

The win moves the freshman Wildcats' record to 4-2 in district play.

The freshman and JV teams will take on the Kilgore Bulldogs tomorrow night at Wildcat Arena beginning at 5 p.m.
