Boy Scouts to flip pancakes

Boy Scout Troop 248 will be serving up pancakes on Sunday, Feb 4 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church of Whitehouse. Donations will be accepted. Sunday is Scout Recognition Day.

ET Writers Guild to meet

The East Texas Writers Guild will meet Monday, Feb. 5, at The Texas Book Store in Bullard. The business meeting is at 6:30 p.m. and the program will start at 7 p.m. Speaker Janice Rogers will discuss "Making Your Characters Memorable".

Dixie Masonic Lodge to meet

The Dixie Masonic Lodge #272 in Troup will meet Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the lodge hall.

Game Time for Seniors

Game Time for Senior Citizens will be Wednesday, Feb. 7 from 1-3 p.m. at the Troup library. All senior citizens are welcome to attend.

Whitehouse Library Board Meeting

The Whitehouse Library Board will meet Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m. at the library.

Quilter's Guild of East Texas to Meet

The Quilter's Guild of East Texas will meet Thursday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at the TASCA building 3402 Old Omen Rd., in Tyler.

Troup VFW to meet

The Troup VFW will meet Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Troup Library

ET Spring Garden Conference coming

The 15th annual East Texas Spring Landscape and Garden Conference is Saturday, Feb. 10 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Tyler Rose Garden Center. Topics from herbs in the landscape to rainwater harvesting are on the agenda. The cost of $15 includes lunch. WJHS art department needs various items

The art department at Whitehouse Junior High School is looking for donations of fabric scraps, catalogs and school appropriate magazines. If you have items to donate, call Tina Penney at 903-839-5590 or drop off donations at the north office of the junior high.

KWB seeks garage sale items

Keep Whitehouse Beautiful, a nonprofit, all volunteer organization affiliated with Keep Texas Beautiful, is currently collecting items for their garage sale in May. If you would like to donate items or have items left over from your garage sale, please contact Dorothy LaFlure at 903-839-3708 or email at kwb75791@yahoo.com.

Whitehouse Recycle Center hours

The Whitehouse Recycle Center is open every Wednesday 7-10 a.m. and 3:30-5 p.m. as well as the first and third Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Bring your recyclable paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum cans and tin cans. The Recycle Center is located on Railroad Ave.

Whitehouse library activities

The Whitehouse Library offers these activities: Story time is on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and scrapbooking nights are the third Friday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Come visit the library!

Church Related Activities

Mt. Selman 1st UMC serving up chili

The Mt. Selman First United Methodist Church will host a Chili Supper on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 3-4 p.m. For the low price of $5 per person, come and eat your fill of chili and enjoy the fellowship. The church is located at Hwy. 69 and FM 855. For more information call 936-645-4110.

Baptist Forerunners meet

The Forerunners, senior adults of First Baptist Church of Troup, will meet for a noon covered dish luncheon Monday, Feb. 5. Maurice Barnes of Legacy Hospice will bring the program.
