Eagles drop Troup's varsities

Tatum overpowered Troup's varsity boys, 83-38, on Friday, Jan. 26.

Reginald Wade led Tiger scorers with 14 points, followed by Cordell Giles with 7, Nick Harrison 4, Derrikk Thompson 4, Jeremy Jasper 4, Chris Ward 2, Chris Davis 2 and Joel Hasley 1.

The junior varsity contest was closer, though the results were the same with Troup losing 36-42.

Cody Lepelley was the top scorer with 15 points, followed by Jake Johnson with 12, Nick Reeves 6, Jeremy Richardson 2 and Leander Steneberg 1.

In the girls game, the Lady Tigers recorded their second district loss to Tatum, narrowing the deficit, 41-35.

Alysha Barton led all scorers with 11 points, including three treys, followed by Janna Ross and Diyamon Martin each with 10. Ross also contributed 9 rebounds, followed by Lauren Worl with 7.

Troup outscored Tatum by one point in the second quarter, but the Eagles maintained a slim 22-19 lead at the half.
