LONGVIEW - Going into the tournament the Lobos' coach was very compleimentary and a little apprehensive of Whitehouse.
"Whitehouse would probably be the odds-on favorite," said Rich of his District 17-4A rival. "They're very talented."
But all the talent that Whitehouse possessed was not enough to beat the Lady Lobos. Whitehouse came out shooting against the Lady Lobos but their shots fell everywhere but in the goal. The Lobos scored their only goal in the first half but Whitehouse could not rally to meet the challenge.

The Lady Cats looked much better against the Lady Dragons. Heather Lofties scored a breakaway goal in the 35th minute for the only score in a first-round matchup at Lobo Stadium. Lindsay Pritchard's pass set up the goal for Whitehouse
Melissa Camp made a diving save on a shot by Brittney Free in the 77th minute to preserve the shutout.
Bug Miller made eight saves for Nacogdoches.

Scoring two unanswered goals midway through the second half, Whitehouse captured third place in the Longview girls soccer tournament with the victory against Lufkin on Saturday. The team really pulled together and looked much better than earlier in the tournament.
