8th-grade 'A' team defeats Braves The junior high boys' basketball teams traveled to Jacksonville last week to take on the Braves in three games. In the first game of the night, the 7th grade lost a heartbreaker at the end with a score of 39-38. Jordan Peoples led the Wildcats in scoring with 12 points while Cory Davis and Jonathan Aldridge would add 7 points each. The 8th grade "B" team would fall to the Braves in the second game by the score of 43-24. Austin Moore led the scoring attack with 10 points for the night. The final game provided even more excitement as the "A" team would barely keep their undefeated season intact, defeating Jacksonville, 61-58. The Wildcats saw a 17 point lead in the third quarter dwindle away, and escaped a last-second three-pointer by the Braves to tie the game. Quincy Aldridge came up big for the Wildcats, pouring in 32 points, and Matt Durst added 8 in the win. |
